A great vintage! A very hot summer brought fully ripe grapes. The wines were drinkable early on with a good concentration of fruit and lovely sweetness. Some critics doubted the ageing potential of the 59s due to their low acidity. They have been shown wrong since most wellstored bottles are still a joy to drink.
