Description

One of the greatest sweet wine makers in the world, Alois Kracher, had the idea of producing world class sweet wine in America. He travelled to California in early 1998 with the idea of finding a local partner for this adventure. He succeeded in getting the wine superstar Manfred Krankl of Sine Qua Non to join him in their joint project, which they called Mr. K.

Their first vintage was 1998 and they produced three wines - an ice wine made from Gewürztraminer from the Babcock vineyards, a straw wine made from Semillon from the Brander Vineyards and a TBA from Viognier from the Alban Vineyards.

The critical acclaim was immediate, Robert Parker calling it one of the greatest sweet wines in the world. With a minimal production these are exceedingly rare.

Being a close friend of Alois Kracher, I managed to get a small allocation of this rare wine which I am now offering to our customers.
