Our comment on
Yet another vintage that is better than its reputation. The wines from Graves were very elegant, Mouton and Latour are both great, Haut Brion is delicate, Margaux and Lafite are living dangerously and very dependent on perfect storage. La Mission Haut Brion is a giant of a wine. Cos, Ausone and Cheval Blanc are lovely. Most Pomerols were very good, this was the last vintage before the disastrous frost in 1956 and the vines were very old.
